The charging port stopped working on a 2018 iPad Pro here. Contacted apple (applecare) through the iPad - they called back in TWO MINUTES. In 2 days a new iPad was here via FedEx. In an hour the new iPad was restored from a cloud backup of the broken iPad. The old iPad is now boxed in Apple's shipping box (the new one came in) with their prepaid return label on it.
